Hours
Marriage licenses are issued between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding Holidays. Please allow approximately 15-20 minutes to process the marriage license.
You are encouraged to obtain your license prior to your wedding date in the event there may be a problem with your documentation. For example, it could take up to 21 days for DMV to issue you a new Driver’s license if yours are expired.
Fees
The fee for the license is $60.00, non-refundable. Only cash, money orders, or cashier’s check are accepted. At this time we are unable to accept Credit or Debit cards.
Requirements
Both Bride and groom must provide valid government issued identification with photo and Social Security Card/ Print out from Social Security Office or a notarized affidavit that states “I have not been issued a social security number by the US government and I am not eligible to obtain one”. The affidavit is available in the Register of Deeds office.
Applicants 16 or 17 years of age must have their legal guardian present, with a state issued photo ID, at the time the licenses are issued along with certified copies of their birth certificate or custody papers.
If either bride or groom have been previously married we will need to see a copy of your divorce papers or date of death of previous spouse.
Identification Requirements
Identification may consist of a current driver’s license or valid state photo ID, valid passport, INS registration with certified copy of birth certificate. If you have never been issued a social security number from the United States you will need to provide a government issued photo ID along with a certified copy of your birth certificate.
